Fight for 42% quota, Revanth tells BCs

Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday advised the BC community, its welfare associations, and leaders not to obstruct the 42% reservations extended to them, as it is the foundation for their upliftment. He stated that from here on, they could seek an enhancement in the quota percentage based on the caste census by the Centre.
“The BCs will lose everything if they fall prey to vested interests and obstruct the 42% quota to them, which was given based on a 100% scientific and accurate survey,” he told the BC leaders, who called on him on the assembly premises to thank him for passing the BC quota Bills in the assembly on Monday. “The BCs should take the lead on their own to achieve their rights, and I will stand by them. This 42% quota needs approval in Parliament for inclusion in the IX Schedule of the Constitution to implement the enhanced quota,” he added.
