While Telugu cinema has been consistently delivering historic blockbusters that have been able to collect over ₹1000 crore at the box office, Tamil cinema has been lagging miles behind.
Not a single Tamil film has managed to breach this thousand crore mark till now.

On this note, the expectation amongst the Tamil folk now is that the upcoming film of superstar Rajinikanth and talented director Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie would breach this mark.
Tamil folk on social media are slapping their thighs, and saying that this film would be their 1000 crore film. And this is pretty much expected, considering that the film marks the coming together of Rajinikanth, Lokesh, Nagarjuna, Upendra and others.

There are also unverified reports that Bollywood star Aamir Khan will also be a part of this project, but this is yet to be officially confirmed.
However, when it comes to bare facts, it needs to be said that this film does not have the necessary hype or attention to be the next 1000 crore grosser in Indian cinema.

The Tamil folk might be super excited about this combination, but for the rest of the Indian audience, there isn’t too much pre-release hype. The presence of Aamir Khan, if at all there is, might bring some revenue in Hindu but that’s also questionable.
The shooting has been completed today, and we can expect the promotions to start soon. But for the film to be valued so much and collect as much as thousand crore, the kind of momentum that is needed is lacking as of today.
Much like Vikram, this film is also going to depend on word of mouth in other languages, and this will ultimately decide its box office prospect as well. As of today, any wonders in other languages are less likely.
