BJP MP DK Aruna
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Police have reportedly arrested one person in connection with the break-in case of BJP parliamentarian DK Aruna in Jubilee Hills.
As per available information, the suspect identified as Mohd Akram from Delhi has been detained and questioned by West Zone DCP SM Vijay Kumar and Jubilee Hills police at the police station. The police are interrogating him to ascertain the reasons behind breaking into the Mahabubnagar MP’s residence and if there was anybody else involved.
The incident took place early Sunday morning at around 4 am, when Akram, wearing a mask, entered the MP’s house through the back entrance. On March 16, the intruder entered Aruna’s residence and spent nearly two hours in the premises. She, however, was not present in the house at that time and was in Mahabubnagar to attend official events.
The police recovered CCTV footage from the house which showed a man wearing hand gloves and a mask moving around in the house. He spent close to an hour in the kitchen.
The break-in was discovered by Aruna’s daughter, who noticed the house in disarray upon waking up. She observed that the kitchen window grill had been removed. Based on the complaint from Aruna’s driver, Lakshman, the Jubilee Hills police booked a case and with the help of clues, Akram was nabbed.
It is learnt that Akram has a history of committing thefts in Hyderabad and Delhi. The police were yet to announce the arrest.
