Warangal: Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) officials seized Jaya Nursing College in Hanamkonda for defaulting on property tax payment worth Rs 44 lakh due for the past three years.
Deputy municipal commissioner Ravinder informed that the college management claimed that a court case was pending regarding the property and yet running the college. The college was seized as the management failed to respond to red notice issued by GWMC seeking to clear the tax dues.
The GWMC officials have so seized as many as 356 properties for defaulting on property tax payments in the last one week, he informed while appealing to the citizens to clear their property tax and tap connection dues.
