Hyderabad: A father daughter duo was found dead on the railway tracks at Enugonda station in Mahabubnagar, late on Monday night.
According to police, Kalleti Shivanand (50) was disturbed due to family issues and reportedly went to the railway tracks to end his life. His daughter, Kalleti Chandana (20) tried to stop him but her efforts failed with both of them coming under a moving train.
Shivanand was working as a driver, while Chandana was a lab technician in a private hospital in the district.On Monday, a heated argument broke out between them and Shivanand left home saying he does not want to live anymore.
Police suspect Shivanand could have walked straight to the railway tracks located around 500 metres from their home and Chandana too followed him. She might have tried stopping him and in the process might have come under the train along with Shivanand and died on the spot.
Syed Akbar, SI GRP Mahabubnagar said, “A case under Section 194 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) was registered on a complaint by local railway officials. The reason for the Shivanand’s suicide and his daughter’s death is under investigation.”
