VIJAYAWADA: A 14-year-old girl was lured under the pretext of being dropped at home, held captive for four days and was gang-raped by seven youngsters and a minor boy near Gannavaram in Krishna district.
According to Ch Suresh, Atukuru police sub-inspector, the victim, along with a girl who is her neighbour, visited the latter’s relatives’ residence on March 9 near Gannavaram.
Following a dispute there on March 13, the victim ventured out alone during the night. It was then two boys – a minor and another youth, who were consuming alcohol, noticed her and asked about her whereabouts.
They lured her under the pretext of dropping her home and took her to an isolated place on village outskirts and raped her. Then, they left the girl with two other boys.
The duo took her to Kesarapalli, raped her, and handed her over to another youth, who with two other boys, took her to a house in Kesarapalli, where she was held captive for four days and was gang raped.
On Tuesday, the accused brought the girl to Machavaram in Vijayawada and abandoned her on the roadside.
An auto driver, noticing the girl, felt suspicious and asked her whereabouts. It was then that the victim revealed her ordeal. The auto driver took her to Machavaram police station.
The cops, who already had information about the girl’s disappearance, informed Atkur police, where a missing case was filed on March 14 by her parents.
A case was registered and police arrested all eight boys, including the minor.
