Hyderabad: Former finance minister T Harish Rao on Friday criticised the Congress govt for blaming the previous BRS regime and urged them to focus on fulfilling their promises. He said the incumbent govt had presented two full budgets and one vote-on-account budget in 16 months, marking the end of its honeymoon period.
Harish Rao’s remarks about CM Revanth Reddy‘s unparliamentary language in the assembly sparked a war of words with ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, D Sridhar Babu, and deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka. Harish Rao attributed the state’s declining income not to an economic slowdown but to a “slowdown of mind” caused by the Congress’s negative policies.
Bhatti and Sridhar Babu reprimanded him for using unparliamentary language, with Sridhar Babu defending Revanth’s words in the House. Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar advised Harish Rao against making such comments in the absence of CM.
Harish Rao concluded by stating that the budget was unrealistic. TNN
