Hyderabad: Seven people were injured when a concrete slab collapsed on them at Pathargatti market in Old City on Thursday night.
No casualties or serious injuries were reported in the incident, which took place between 10.30 pm and 11 pm in front of Anand Bhawan in Pathergatti Kaman.
Four of the victims were immediately rushed to the Osmania General Hospital, while the remaining three were taken to a private hospital for treatment. The injured were identified as customers who were passing through the area when the slab suddenly gave way.
Charminar MLA Mir Zulfeqar Ali, who visited the site shortly after the incident, blamed improper application of stucco for the collapse. “The authorities failed to apply the stucco properly, which led to this unfortunate incident,” Ali said at the site.
