Satisfied with my Tata Nexon EV 45’s range: Sharing 3-week data

The data was taken from the iRA app, which I do believe overstates the distance run. Hence, have taken the range with a 5% or 10% drop too.

BHPian Staraptor recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

My Tata Nexon EV 45 Range Update

I went through 3 (well actually 2.5 charge cycles) over the past 3 weeks.

The usage is primarily within the city, but has usage of Eastern and Western Express Highway in Mumbai against the traffic so a bit of highway use too.

Time taken for commute for reference:

  • BKC: 11 kms in 30-40 mins
  • Andheri: 17 kms in 1 hr 10 mins/ 27 kms in 1 hr 15 mins (depending on the route)

Data was taken from the iRA app, which I do believe overstates the distance run. Hence, have taken the range with a 5% or 10% drop too.

Kindly note that I was taking the longer route in Charge Cycle 1, probably leading to better efficiency.

1. Charge Cycle 1

135kms run, battery consumed was 36%. Range comes to 375kms

2. Charge Cycle 2

289.3 kms run, battery consumed was 81%. Range comes to 357.2 kms.

3. Charge Cycle 3

296.1 kms run, battery consumed was 89%. Range comes to 332.7 kms.

I’ve also attached the average range in the pic below. Therefore the range comes to somewhere between 319.5 kms and 350.0 kms.

Also kindly note that there was a heatwave with high ambient temperatures (going upto 40 degrees) during Charge Cycle 3.

Quite satisfied with the range.

The driving was done in City Mode with Regen 2.

P.S. Also got a flat tyre this week, thank God for the spare tyre unlike the Punch.EV.

The spare tyre has an 80kmph speed limit. Considering that the tyre is the exact same size, does the speed limit actually apply?
