Hyderabad: New applicants from Telangana districts for the Telangana Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (TG EAPCET) 2025 will be forced to head to the HMDA limits to take the test.
Due to a large number of applications received and limited capacity at the centres set up in the districts, the JNTU-Hyderabad, which is organising the entrance test, has blocked test preference centres in 12 zones, making it impossible for students to get centres in their respective districts.
According to officials, out of 16 zones where the test will be conducted, 12 have already received applications exceeding the centres capacity, forcing them to block them from further registrations.
Consequently, all new applicants, regardless of the district they are applying from, will be allotted centres in the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) area, covering Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal districts.
“There is less capacity in some districts as there are fewer engineering or other professional colleges. We have already received a maximum of applications from the districts, prompting us to block new registrations in 12 test zones. Now new applicants will be allotted centres in Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts,” sources said.
A total of 1,75,991 applications, including 1,27,758 for engineering, 48,115 for AP and 118 for both E&AP were received till the last count on Saturday. The last date to register on the website, eapcet.tgche.ac.in/, without a late fee is April 4. Corrections to online already submitted applications can be done from April 6-8.
The deadline for submission of application with late fee of Rs 250 and Rs 500 is April 9 and 14, respectively. Applications can also be submitted with late fee of Rs 2,500 and Rs 5,000 up to April 18 and 24, respectively.
Hall tickets can be downloaded from the website from April 19. The agriculture and pharmacy entrance test is scheduled for April 29-30 and the engineering entrance test will be held from May 205.
