The data shared by the police also revealed a stark gender divide, with all 389 offenders being men.

The age distribution of the offenders highlighted that individuals in their 30s and 40s were the most frequent violators, with 160 cases in the 31-40 age bracket and 143 cases in the 21-30 category. The 41-50 age group recorded 55 cases, followed by 21 in the 51-60 category and four above the age of 61. No cases were registered for individuals below 18.

A total of 85 individuals had blood alcohol concentration (BAC) levels of less than 50, while 178 cases fell in the 51-100 range. The BAC levels of 63 violators were between 101-150, while 26 individuals recorded levels between 151-200. Another 26 cases were booked in the 201-300 range, and 11 cases involved BAC readings of 301 or above.

Those booked will be presented before the court. Officials further warned that individuals who drive under the influence of alcohol and cause fatal accidents will be booked under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, which deals with culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The offence carries a maximum punishment of 10 years in prison along with a fine.
