Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan will visit Kurnool district on March 22 to perform ‘Bhumi puja’ for the construction of a farm pond with National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) funds at Pudicherla village in Orvakal mandal.
District Collector P. Ranjith Basha said that the government has set a target of constructing two lakh farm ponds in the State before June this year under the NREGA scheme and Mr. Pawan Kalyan will start the initiative from Kurnool. The Collector said that 8,500 farm ponds will be constructed in the district.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan will reach Orvakal airport and from there to Pudicherla, where he will perform Bhumi puja. Later, he will address a public meeting.
Mr. Ranjith Basha held a meeting with the officials and instructed them to make necessary arrangements for the puja and public meeting. He asked the officials to complete all the works related to bandobust, construction of stage, sanitation at the meeting venue, lighting and sound system, to be completed by Match 21 (Friday) evening. Kurnool Revenue Divisional Officer Sandeep was made the overall in-charge for the event.
