Food safety teams find violations at three eateries in Hyderabad | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Multiple violations were found by food safety department officials at three popular eateries in Hayathnagar, Gachibowli, and Madhapur. The eateries are Hotel Tulips Grand, Hayathnagar, Varalakshmi Tiffins, Gachibowli, and Kshatriya Foods, Madhapur.
Unhygienic conditions were found in the cooking areas and premises of all three restaurants. At Hotel Tulips Grand, officials identified stale mushrooms, insect-infested ice creams, and poppy seeds in the storeroom. They also found a lack of a proper drainage system in the kitchen and the absence of pest control records with the Food Business Operator (FBO). Additionally, stale meat was found in the cold storage.
Varalakshmi Tiffins in Gachibowli was found to be lacking a water analysis report and medical fitness certificates. The premises also had rats outside the kitchen, unclean walls, broken flooring in the kitchen, clogged drains, uncovered dustbins, and a lack of proper food storage areas.
At Kshatriya Foods, Madhapur, officials noted a large number of houseflies in the kitchen and reprimanded the use of synthetic food colours. Apart from dirty flooring, the chimneys were observed to be greasy, and the drainage system was clogged. Additionally, unhygienic refrigerators were found with improperly stored food.
“In the coming days, we will be issuing a show-cause notice to all the three eateries and then try to take an adjudication order,” a food safety inspector told TOI.
