Lamborghini is witnessing a massive surge in demand for its supercars in India. The ‘raging bull’ badge has struck a chord, especially with young ultra-rich buyers, so much so that the brand’s supercars are sold out until 2027. In a recent interview, Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, said, “Indians are amongst the ones who are the youngest (of our buyers) after China.” Winkelmann went on to explain, “There are two reasons – One, the average age of the population is very low. Secondly, you have a lot of startups in India which are very successful. You have very young high net worth individuals who are stepping into and willing to buy these types of cars.” The luxury car market in India has been booming post-pandemic. Sales of high-end luxury cars have more than doubled in the past three years. In 2024, Lamborghini sold a record 113 units in India. 10% more than the previous year. “Our type of business is scarcity, selling less than demand,” Winkelmann said. “We are not selling mobility and it is important to underline that.
