Madurai is set to improve its domestic air travel options with the introduction of an IndiGo flight connecting the city to Vijayawada via Bengaluru, starting March 30. This daily service is designed to meet the growing demand for more efficient regional connections.
Currently, passengers heading to Vijayawada from Madurai must transit through Chennai, Bengaluru, or Hyderabad, requiring flight changes. The new flight offers a more convenient option, allowing passengers to stay on the same plane during a brief 30-minute stop in Bengaluru before continuing to their destination.
The schedule is as follows: the flight will depart Madurai at 8:15 AM, reach Bengaluru by 9:45 AM, and take off again at 10:15 AM, arriving in Vijayawada at 11:55 AM. The return leg departs Vijayawada at 5:40 PM, arriving in Bengaluru at 7:25 PM, with the final leg taking off at 7:55 PM and landing in Madurai at 9:20 PM.
In addition to this new service, Madurai Airport already offers flights to major cities like Chennai, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi, and Hyderabad.
