Vijayawada: A woman was reportedly murdered by unknown assailants in a deserted area between Kolanukonda and Ippatam late Sunday night in Guntur district. The deceased was identified as Sajja Lakshmi Tirupatamma of Ranigarithota in Vijayawada. Lakshmi was a widow and mother of two. After her husband’ demise, she took up catering work to support her family. Guntur SP Satish Kumar said that on Sunday morning, Lakshmi had informed her family about heading to Vijayawada for work but never returned. He added that she may have been murdered by some unknown assailants around 8 pm in the bushes near Kolanukonda. The crime scene was located approximately 100 metre from the National Highway on the Kolanukonda-Ippatam road. TNN
