Polling to the Hyderabad Local Authorities Constituency (LAC) seat of Legislative Council would be held on April 23
Election Commission (EC) has issued the schedule for conduct of election to Hyderabad Local Authorities Constituency (LAC) seat of Legislative Council on Monday (March 24, 2025).
According to the schedule, the EC will issue notification for the acceptance of nominations from March 28. April 4 is the last day for filing of nomination papers.
Nomination papers will be scrutinised on April 7 and April 9 is the last date for withdrawal of papers. Polling will be held on April 23 and counting will take place on April 25.
The vacancy will be caused as the term of present MLC M. S. Prabhakar ends on May 1 this year.
It may be mentioned here that elections to five MLC vacancies from the MLA quota were filled up unanimously. Three Congress and one each Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Communist Party of India (CPI) candidates were elected unopposed earlier this month. However, in the Teachers and Graduates constituency elections, the BJP sprang a surprise winning a one Teachers and Graduates seat.
