Rain brings respite to parts of AP | Vijayawada News


Visakhapatnam: Thundershowers lashed parts of the Rayalaseema region and a few areas in coastal Andhra Pradesh from Saturday morning to Sunday morning, bringing down temperatures and providing a respite from the scorching heat.
Satyavedu in Tirupati district recorded the highest rainfall of 3 cm, followed by Koikunta in Nandyal district with 2 cm, C Belagal in Kurnool district with 2 cm, and 1 cm of rainfall each in Banaganapalle (Nandyal), Tanakal (Sri Sathyasai), Peapally (Nandyal), Allagadda (Nandyal), Puttur (Tirupati), Muddanur (YSR District), and Kurnool. Farmers reported that some parts of the Rayalaseema region experienced hailstorms on Saturday, which caused damage to standing agricultural and horticultural crops in the region. In the entire north coastal Andhra Pradesh, only two places received moderate rainfall. Mentada in Vizianagaram district recorded 3.2 mm, and Ichchapuram in Srikakulam recorded 2.4 mm.
