Vijayawada: The main focus of the two-day district collectors’ conference, starting Tuesday, would be to realise the vision of ‘Vikasit Andhra Pradesh‘. Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and all cabinet ministers will be present at the conference.
The chief minister has set a target of achieving 15 percent GSDP, towards which the collectors have been asked to make presentations on action plans for their respective districts. Unlike in the past, when special chief secretaries and principal secretaries used to present department-wise action plans, the govt has changed the pattern, with district collectors tasked with giving detailed presentations.
After welcome remarks by revenue minister Anagani Satya Prasad, and finance minister Payyavula Keshav, Naidu will address the conference and roll out the agenda of the state govt. Subsequently, principal secretary (finance and planning) Peeyush Kumar will present the vision document of the state. IT secretary Katamneni Bhaskar will share his views on the WhatsApp governance initiative and positive public perception, chief secretary K Vijayanand will give a presentation on grievance redressal.
Chief commissioner of land administration, G Jayalakshmi, will share details of land grievances redressal, which would be followed with presentations by special chief secretaries G Sai Prasad (water resources), Budithi Rajasekhar (agriculture), MT Krishna Babu (health), principal secretary PR Sashibhushan Kumar, and Ronaki Kurmanath, director of state disaster management authority. Chief secretary Vijayanand will make a presentation on PM Suryagarh before giving the baton to the welfare secretaries in the afternoon.
As many as nine district collectors will make presentations in the evening session on day one (Tuesday). The collectors will have to present district action plan for FY 2025-26 to achieve 15% plus growth of GDDP and GDVA. Each collector will be given 10 minutes and another five minutes for district specific issues which need to be brought to the notice of the govt. Each district collector can make the presentation in up to eight slides only. The presentation will be for 15 minutes, followed by discussion for five minutes.
The second day of the conference will start directly with the presentations by the remaining 17 district collectors. The recently appointed zonal in-charge officers will make their observations at the end of the conference. After DGP Harish Kumar Gupta gives his presentation on law and order, chief minister Naidu will take stock of the situation with district collectors and SPs.
