A woman was attacked and locked insider her flat in Masab Tank, following a quarrel over money.
The victim, a native of West Bengal, residing in Mumbai, worked at a nightclub in Dubai.
Police stated that the woman, who was working as a contract-based sex worker, arrived in Hyderabad on March 18 under an arrangement made by a broker named Pankaj. Her stay in the city was coordinated by a local contact, Gayatri. She was staying in a flat in Masab Tank for the past three days before the incident occurred occurred.
On March 21, around 11 p.m., an argument broke out between the victim and two other women, her colleagues, over a financial dispute. The altercation escalated, leading to the victim being physically assaulted. The two women then locked her inside the flat and fled.
The victim managed to contact the police, who arrived at the scene and rescued her. A case has been registered, and authorities have since taken the main broker, Pankaj, into custody on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a search is underway to locate the two women involved in the assault.
