6 detained at Shamshabad Airport for using forged passports

Hyderabad: Six persons, including five women who were attempting to fly to Muscat from Hyderabad using forged passports, were detained at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad in the early hours of Wednesday. The women — K Pallavi, 25, D Mabhi, 34, Nasrin, 30, Easteru Rani, 32, and Venkatamma, 30 — were from neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, while the male flier, Rakesh Paswan, was from UP, police said. They were detained by the immigration officials during the immigration clearance.
A case was registered against the six persons and they would be produced before court, a police officer said.
Police said the women were scheduled to fly to Muscat, while Paswan was flying to Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, and all of them had valid flight tickets.
Some pages of their passports were missing, and dates of birth were incorrect when compared to original birth proofs.
Police suspect that they were being trafficked to foreign countries for doing odd jobs at meagre pay. They were also verifying the details of the agents who facilitated their travel for further investigation.
