Delegates from Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore, among other countries, would participate and present research papers at the two-day international conference on ‘Psychosocial Competencies for Global Youth’ to be organised from March 28 at St. Joseph’s College of Education for Women, in Guntur.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, the college principal, Professor T. Swarupa Rani said that the conference is being organised in collaboration with the Global Counselling Psychologists Association (GCPA). She, along with GCPA president D. Saroja, released a brochure related to the conference. Conference directresses Assistant Professor Sr. A. Roselin, Associate Professor B. Srilatha and co-ordinator T.S. Subhashini joined them in inviting all the students to the event.
Ms. Saroja said that skills and educational qualifications alone are not enough to emerge as global leaders. She said that youth must focus on improving their psychosocial competencies, and the research papers which will be submitted at the conference would help them do so.
