Bollywood is abuzz with a massive behind-the-scenes change as Karan Johar has allegedly asked Sajid Nadiadwala to postpone the trailer of Housefull 5. The trailer was set to be released along with Salman Khan’s Sikandar on the Eid 2025 weekend, a week before the release of the film in June.
But Karan Johar’s priority is to get all the limelight for his forthcoming film, Kesari 2, which releases on April 18, 2025. As per sources, Karan initially went to Akshay Kumar, the star of Housefull 5, to share his concerns. Akshay liked the idea and proposed that Karan speak to Sajid Nadiadwala about his point of view.

Sajid is said to have listened to Karan and is now considering alternatives. One of the alternatives is to release the teaser of Kesari 2 with Sikandar rather than the trailer of Housefull 5. This marketing strategy can help Kesari 2 test with a bigger audience over the Eid weekend, generating huge word of mouth among cinemagoers.
Although the final call has not been made, sources disclose that Karan is optimistic this change will help increase ticket sales for Kesari 2. With Bollywood soon to have two big releases, this marketing showdown between promotions illustrates the intense battle in the marketing strategies of the industry.
