Hyderabad: As part of its centenary celebrations, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has announced plans to establish over 4,000 new branches in Telangana by the next Dasara, aiming to expand its presence in every village. The RSS will also launch a public outreach campaign in the state in Nov or Dec, distributing pamphlets or books to every household.
Celebrating its 100th anniversary, this milestone event will feature a range of activities lasting until next Dasara. At a press conference held on Wednesday, RSS Telangana state secretary Kacham Ramesh shared details of the upcoming initiatives, including meetings with prominent figures in district and city centres.
“Youth conferences will be organised as well,” Ramesh said. “Currently, 3,117 RSS branches operate across 1,839 locations in Telangana—an increase of 392 branches. The state hosts 382 monthly meetings, and there has been a significant rise in youth and student branches. A locality with a population of 10,000 is considered one unit, whether in rural or urban areas,” he explained.
Ramesh also condemned the recent attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, describing them as planned assaults. “These incidents in Bangladesh were orchestrated. Global human rights organisations should speak out against this,” he added.
Ramesh said that RSS volunteers are being encouraged to engage in social activities such as community gatherings, social harmony meetings, and interactions with local leaders. From Sept 2025 to Oct 2026, shakha activities will be organised for a week in over one lakh locations.
