Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) MD, NVS Reddy, is among 177 retired officers who were terminated from services by municipal administration & urban development (MAUD).
NVS Reddy worked as managing director of Hyderabad Metro Rail since its formation in 2007. Prior to that, he worked as additional commissioner of the traffic and transportation wing of GHMC. The IRAS officer quit his service, joined the state govt, and was made permanent MD. He was on extension after his retirement.
Some of the other key officers removed from services were HMWSSB executive director M Satyanarayana, TG RERA joint collector S Sathaiah, and HMDA chief engineer BLN Reddy, who was named in formula e-race case has already quit the posts.
As per the memo issued by MAUD, all special chief secretaries and principal secretaries of the secretariat departments were directed to terminate the services of all retired employees working after retirement, whether by appointment, contract, or outsourcing basis, irrespective of the source of remuneration or HODs, including corporations, boards, and all govt agencies in state-level offices by March 31.
They were informed that those departments which still require the services of these retired officers or employees will need to obtain fresh orders with justification from the competent authority. In this regard, 177 officers who were on deputation or engaged on a contract or sourcing basis were terminated from services, including 63 retired officers working in HMDA and 45 from GHMC.
