Happy to report a new player in the detailing space in HSR Layout, Bangalore. They have been my goto place for washes for the past 6 months and their professionalism has pushed me to share this review. There was another detailing center in the same space and a new management has taken over around 6-7 months back.
Maintenance Regimen
One week after delivery, I had gotten a [CarPro] ceramic coating done from Mohsin and team at Ultimate Detailerz. This was a 3 coat finish and was done with high quality. As per Mohsin’s recommendation, I have only been using a Jopasu duster for weekly dusting followed by washes at one of the detailing centers (every 2-3 weeks). For the washes, I carry my own towels to avoid using the ones maintained at the detailing centers (which is used across so many cars).
Historical Experience
I avoid the automated wash systems due to possibility of scratches from the bristles used. Most of the other centers seem to be focusing on giving low cost washes and they achieve this by rotating cars very fast with most of the quality being average. The detailing center in discussion today, Just wash, solves my requirement for a quality service (of course it is not cheapest and I am willing to make this trade off).

There was another management for this same location and the experience previously has been mixed. However things with the new management is quite consistent for me from the past 6 months. I met Nandish, one of the founders of the company. Quite a friendly entrepreneur. They apparently have a separate B2B business focusing on hotels and fleets, to wash their cars regularly onsite and this is their first physical detailing center for retail customers.
Summary
Pros:
– Good quality of wash and consistency of that quality (“they spend time ensuring dirt is removed across corners”)
– Professional (“polite workers and one doesn’t have to wake them up at the opening time”)
Cons:
– Plan and go, because they take good amount of time (45mins+) per car; I would go first in the day or when it is lean hours.
– Not the cheapest (vs some of the other “fast turnaround” players in HSR); I pay Rs 700 for exterior wash (Mercedes GLE). I still consider this value.
Other Detailing
They do offer services such as PPF and ceramic coating. However, I haven’t availed those services, hence can’t comment.
