Auro Infra has received the Union Ministry of Coal’s award of appreciation in the ‘Early Operationalisation’ category.
Sanjay Vinod Mishra, who heads the mining vertical of Auro Infra, received the award on behalf of the company from Union Minister of Coal and Mines Kishan Reddy at a function in New Delhi. The company (formerly known as Aurobindo Realty & Infrastructure) holds four coal blocks in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Telangana besides three rock phosphate blocks in Madhya Pradesh.
Auro Infra said it received the award of appreciation from the Coal Ministry for successfully commencing operations at Takli Jena Belora — North & South in a record time of just two years. The coal mine, located in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra, is currently operating at a peak rated capacity of 1.5 million tonnes per year. This achievement made it the first commercial coal mine in India to become operational.
While the block is fully operational and produces coal, the remaining blocks are at various stages of approval, the company said.
