Hyderabad: A local court on Thursday sentenced a man to rigorous imprisonment of one-and-a-half years for rash and negligent driving that resulted in the death of a pregnant woman and her unborn child in a road crash that took place at Hayathnagar in 2017.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 500 on him.
The convicted person P Subhash (45), an auto-rickshaw driver from Kuntloor in Hayathnagar who was driving under the influence of alcohol, rashly drove his vehicle and mowed down the victim killing her and the unborn child on the spot.
