Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has said that for the first time in the history of Telangana, record-breaking allocations were made for welfare with ₹1,44,156 crore meant for it out of the ₹3.04 lakh crore budget for the financial year 2025-26.

Speaking in the Assembly on Thursday (March 27, 2025) on the Appropriation Bill, Mr. Bhatti said that during the 10-year rule of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), ₹70,474 crore was allocated for the welfare of BC, SC, ST, Minority, and Child Welfare but was not spent. Similarly, ₹50,000 crore was promised for the SC sub-plan but nothing was done.

Mr. Bhatti said that ₹40,000 crore unpaid bills were handed over to the Congress by the BRS apart from lakhs of crores debt raised. He also accused the BRS of extending the retirement age of government employees to 61 years from 58 years to escape from paying the dues meant for them.

The Congress government was now forced to pay ₹20,000 crores of such dues and of these, ₹16,000 crore had been cleared. When the employees were disclosed these facts, they understood the baggage left behind and were now satisfied.
