All I need to do is reinstall the new converter, hose down the deck and superstructure and do the same polish/wax trick as on the hull.

BHPian Jeroen recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

After spending the morning with spanner mate Peter and his bearing problems on his classic Lancia, I drove over to the marina Stand Horst

Sirion was pulled out of the hall and parked next to Anton’s place.

I am very pleased with how her Dark Blue hull looks! That polish and wax really worked!

It’s difficult to see, but this is the starboard bow. Which had a deep scratch. Anton has already filled up the scratch and polished it down. All it needs is a bit of spray, sanding down and polishing!

Hopefully we will be relaunching in the next day or two!!

I only did one job. As Sirion was now out in the open, I wanted to see if I could get the newly installed converter box up and running. But its WiFi signal was still irregular, and it kept telling me unable to join. So I called Hans, who told me to send the unit back to me. He would try and get a new unit out to me, so I have it all up and running before we start our first major trip on the 1st of April.

So now I am waiting for the phone call telling me Sirion is back in the water. All I need to do is reinstall the new converter, hose down the deck and superstructure and do the same polish/wax trick as on the hull.

I also need to get all the fresh water systems filled up and flush out the antifreeze. Next, I will power up the various systems and take Sirion for a couple of hours of trial sailing.

I am not expecting any problems, but boats can be more tricky and temperamental than cars. So fingers crossed!

Jeroen
