Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu presents Kala Rathna award to Dr OV Ramana

VIJAYAWADA: Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu presented the prestigious Kala Rathna Award to renowned homeo-physician and social worker Dr OV Ramana here on Sunday.
The state govt announced Kala Rathna Awards to several eminent personalities from the fields of medicine, art, culture, music, movies, journalism, and social service. The Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, tourism and culture minister Kandula Durgesh, endowments minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, and housing minister K Pardha Saradhi were present during the Ugadi celebrations held at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram, where the Chief Minister presented the Kala Rathna Awards.
Dr OV Ramana treated several critical health issues with homeopathic medicine. Several VIPs, including ministers and legislators, depend on Ramana for medical advice. Interestingly, Ramana is better known as the commoners’ doctor, as people from far-off places in Prakasam, Kurnool, Kadapa, Chittoor, and Visakhapatnam districts visit him for treatment of chronic ailments.
Ramana is also involved in the construction of an orphanage and an old-age home with the support of his friends. Dr Ramana received many prestigious awards and rewards during his nearly three-decade-long career as a physician.
Dr Ramana specialised in the non-surgical treatment of kidney stones and infertility at negligible cost to the patients. He treated chronic diseases like cancer, severe psychological problems leading to acute depression, skin diseases, and hair loss through unique systematic treatment very effectively.
To help the less privileged in society, he provides very economical medicare, treating more than sixty percent of patients free of cost. He conducted many preventive free medical camps and blood donation camps in remote villages, especially during natural calamities like floods and storms and during periods of epidemics like dengue, swine flu, and encephalitis.
He donated two lakh rupees to police personnel of AP, apart from providing free preventive medicine, masks, and sanitisers to police, teachers, students, and temples during Covid-19. Dr Ramana launched the Sri Shiridi Sai Spiritual and Services Society, through which he organised free coaching classes for poor students, scholarships, books, and study material.
