Nagpur: Former additional superintendent of police of Chandrapur, Sudhakar Pathare, was killed in a road accident after his car collided with a bus in Telangana. Pathare, currently serving as the deputy commissioner of police, Mumbai Port, was travelling along with his relative to the Srisailam temple when his car collided with a bus coming from the other direction.
Speaking to TOI, head constable Shyam Sundar of the Nagarkurnool Control room said that the accident took place on the Vatwarlapalle – Srisailam Highway. “Their car collided with a bus, and both men died on the spot,” he said.
Prior to his untimely accident, DCP Pathare had an illustrious career. He joined the police force as a sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) in Chandrapur district. He was subsequently transferred to Kolhapur as an additional superintendent of police (ASP) and later returned to Chandrapur in the same capacity. After completing his tenure there, he was appointed as the deputy commissioner of police (DCP), Zone-2, in Pune.
Following this, he served as DCP (Headquarters) in Navi Mumbai and later as DCP, Zone-1, Navi Mumbai. His career further progressed as he took on the role of DCP (Economic Offences Wing) in Thane before being transferred to Ulhasnagar. Throughout his tenure, DCP Pathare maintained an impeccable record, with no negative remarks, reflecting his unwavering commitment to duty.
