Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has asserted that his Government is clear in thinking and determination and said it is committed to promoting the State as a role model for the country by effectively implementing the “Telangana Rising -2050” plan.

The Government is firm on its objective of generating more income and distributing it to the poor. It is time to pay more attention to the development of the State and not on “political slugfest”. The Chief Minister was speaking at the ‘Viswavasu Nama Samvatsara’ Ugadi, organised at Ravindra Bharati, in the city on Sunday.

He said the State was leading over others in paddy production and it was decided to distribute fine rice grown by Telangana farmers to poor under the new scheme. He said the Congress Government had enacted the Food Security Act to mitigate hunger among the poor and the Government had decided to launch the prestigious fine rice distribution scheme for the poor on Sunday, coinciding with the auspicious Ugadi.

Conveying his wishes on Telugu New Year’s Day, the Chief Minister wished that the State would witness equitable growth in welfare and development, besides ensuring that people would get abundant employment opportunities. The annual budget presented by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka in the Assembly was a mix of flavours akin to Ugadi Pachadi, according top priority to agricultural development and providing quality education to poorer sections.

Sufficient funds had been earmarked for education, health, employment and welfare and the Government was striving hard to push Telangana on the path of robust development. The development of new cities was a parameter in the country’s growth and hence, the Government planned to develop the Future City, which would emerge as a destination for investments in the country. With Telangana Rising creating wonders in the country, the State was set to become a role model for the country, he said.

Mr. Vikramarka said the Government was committed to providing necessary amenities for equitable development of all sections with a special focus on youth, agriculture, industry and women. The budget had, therefore incorporated programmes keeping these sections in mind. The budget reflected the Government’s intentions to ensure accelerated development of the State and making it globally competitive.

Accordingly, funds were earmarked for several programmes like Future City, development of Hyderabad, Regional Ring Road and new airports.
