“MAD Square,” cashing in on its first installment’s success and brand name, brought in huge openings on its first day. Defying trade pundits’ expectations and usual calculations, the film achieved a record opening for its range in North America. It quickly crossed $850k in two days.
So, it will reach the coveted $1 million even before the end of its first weekend. It has already become a blockbuster.
Although the jokes in “MAD Square” are not as funny as their predecessors and the script is almost nonexistent, it didn’t matter for the audiences, as they felt it made time pass while watching. The other big Telugu release, “Robinhood,” lacked entertainment, and “L2” did not work for the main Telugu audience; this comedy drama took advantage and is having great success at the box office in North America.
“Mad Square” will bring more profits than the previous installment for distributors as well as the producer.
The film featured Narne Nithiin, Sangeeth Sobhan, Vishnu Oi, and Ram Nithin in the lead roles, with Priyanka Jawalkar making a minor character. Reba Monica John did an item song. For director Kalyan Shankar, this release is his second hit. Suryadevara Harika produced the film under the Sithara Entertainments banner, and Naga Vamsi presented it.
