The Dark Editions of cars, which are quite popular among Indian buyers, are favoured for their sporty appeal and exclusivity. Tata Motors pioneered this trend, and its Dark Editions contribute over 15 percent of the company’s total passenger vehicle sales. While the Tata Harrier and Safari Dark Editions comprise approx. 45 percent – 50 percent of total sales of these models, the Nexon, Altroz, Harrier and Safari’s Dark Edition account nearly 10 percent to 20 percent of their respective total sales.
Tata Curvv Dark Edition
The Tata Curvv Dark Edition will soon join the bandwagon. Prior to its market arrival, the carmaker has released a teaser showing the silhouette. Similar to Tata’s other Dark Editions, this one will come painted in the all-black colour scheme with darkened elements such as grey headlamp inserts, black-finished faux skid plates, black finished 17-inch alloy wheels and a special badge on the front fender with the word ‘#Dark’.
The Curvv Dark Editions is likely to come with all-black cabin theme with black leatherette seats and door inserts and a perforated black leather finish on the door handles.
No mechanical changes to be made to this new Edition. The Tata Curvv Dark Edition will feature the same 125bhp, 1.2L turbo petrol and 118bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel engines. Both will come with the 6-speed and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearboxes.
Citroen Basalt Dark Edition

The French automaker has teased the upcoming Citroen Basalt Dark Edition ahead of its official launch in April, 2025. The teaser indicates that this special edition will be painted in a new black colour scheme. While its official details will be revealed closer to the launch, it’s expected to feature blacked-out front and rear skid plates, alloy wheels in dark chrome finish and special badging. The sporty black treatment will continue inside the cabin as well.
The SUV’s Dark Edition could be reserved for the top-end variant. Under the hood, it will house the same 1.2L turbo petrol engine with both manual and automatic gearbox options. This motor generates a maximum power of 110bh and 205Nm of torque.
