A recent case in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district has gained attention after a woman allegedly threatened to kill her husband in a manner similar to the infamous Meerut drum murder case.
The husband, Dharmendra Kushwaha, has accused his wife, Maya Maurya, of having an illicit relationship with her relative, Neeraj Maurya, and conspiring against him.

According to Kushwaha’s complaint, Maya and Neeraj developed a close bond during the construction of their house, which intensified after Neeraj’s wife passed away. The dispute reportedly began in July 2024, when Kushwaha allegedly caught the two in a compromising position.
He claims he was assaulted when he objected and that Maya later left their home, only to return a month later and take jewelry and cash before leaving again. He filed a police complaint in September 2024 regarding this incident.

On March 29, 2025, tensions escalated when Maya allegedly threatened to kill Kushwaha and his mother. During a heated altercation, she reportedly told him, “If you say too much, I will get you chopped and packed in a drum like the Meerut massacre.”
Maya, on the other hand, denies the allegations, stating that Kushwaha had filed false complaints and had forced her to undergo multiple abortions. She claims she was a victim of domestic abuse and had filed complaints against him in the past.

Police have begun an investigation, examining CCTV footage and legal records. Given the gravity of the accusations, authorities are expected to take appropriate action once the inquiry is complete.
