Hyderabad: The Nizamabad police on Monday arrested a mother-son duo for allegedly abducting and killing an infant. The arrested were identified as Bosle Mala Bai (52) and her son Gopal Brucelee (33).
According to police officials, the accused, natives of Maharashtra, made a living by seeking alms in Nizamabad town. However, they suspected that their relative, Kamala Bai, was earning more by using her children, including an infant. The mother-son duo and Kamala Bai have previous enmity between them, said the police officials.
On March 27, Kamala Bai came to Nizamabad with her three children. At night, when she was sleeping at the bus stand with her kids, she found her infant son missing. She immediately alerted the cops, following which a kidnap case was registered, and a special team was deputed to trace the missing kid.
Based on CCTV footage and other clues, police identified the accused, and arrested them on Monday and sent them to judicial remand, said P Sai Chaitanya, Nizamabad police commissioner.
Meanwhile, the accused alleged that Kamala Bai killed her husband Gangadhar around ten days ago at their native place in Nanded district. The reasons for Gangadhar’s death are not known yet, the police said.
