Vijayawada/Visakhapatnam: Muslims across Andhra Pradesh celebrated Ramzan with great devotion and enthusiasm, marking the occasion with grand congregational prayers at Eidgahs and mosques statewide. Thousands gathered to offer special Ramzan prayers, seeking global peace and expressing their faith.
In Vijayawada, a massive congregation at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium celebrated the occasion, with many attendees wearing black ribbons in support of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board’s peaceful protests against the proposed Waqf Amendment Bill. Prominent figures, including Nagul Meera, Devineni Avinash, Munir Ahmed, and Farooq Shubli, attended the event.
Maulana Mohamed Aijaz Uddin and Maulana Aziz Uddin Siddiqui addressed the gathering, emphasizing unity and urging the govt to safeguard Muslim rights. Special Eid prayers were also held at various mosques, including One Town, Labbipet, and Yanamalakuduru.
Many Muslim families organized Ramzan feasts, inviting relatives and friends to celebrate. Hotels in Vijayawada prepared special dishes to mark the festival. Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan, and YSRCP chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy extended greetings to the Muslim community, wishing for prosperity and harmony.
In Vizag city and surrounding districts, Muslims celebrated Eid-Ul-Fitr with fervor and gaiety, marking the end of the holy fasting month of Ramzan. The day began with prayers at mosques, followed by the largest congregational prayers, Salaatal-Eid, at historic Mecca Masjid in Jagadamba junction. Mosques across the region were decorated, and people exchanged sweets, gifts, and special dishes.
Leaders from various political parties in the Vizag region wished everyone happiness, blessings, and brotherhood, marking the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
