Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh govt’s ‘P-4′ program aligns with the Union govt’s development goals, emphasising poverty eradication, infrastructure growth, and MSME empowerment, said BJP AP president Daggubati Purandeswari.
She was speaking at a key meeting held in Vijayawada with the newly appointed district presidents and in-charges, focusing on the party’s organisational strategies and political action plan in Andhra Pradesh. She emphasised that the BJP, along with its allies, is committed to supporting initiatives that drive state’s progress.
During the meeting, the BJP leadership discussed upcoming activities, including the party’s foundation day on April 6 and Dr B R Ambedkar’s birth anniversary on April 14. Party leaders were instructed to strengthen grassroots engagement through six key programs at the polling booth level. She revealed that BJP has over 25 lakh members in Andhra Pradesh, with 2.18 lakh booth-level workers actively involved in expanding the party’s presence.
Purandeswari criticised the previous YSRCP govt, accusing it of financial mismanagement, corruption, and failure to attract investments. She claimed that the state was pushed into a debt crisis, roads were neglected, and dissent was suppressed. She also alleged corruption in the liquor and sand mining sectors.
Speaking on development, she praised the BJP-led central govt’s support, including Rs 15,000 crore for the Polavaram project, Rs 12,500 crore from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for Amaravati, and Rs 11,000 crore from the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO). She also mentioned central aid for road repairs, Panchayati Raj, and tax devolution.
Purandeswari stressed the importance of the central and state govts working together for Andhra Pradesh’s growth. She reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of creating employment, supporting MSMEs, and ensuring financial aid for the underprivileged.
She also praised the coordination between the BJP, Telugu Desam Party (TDP), and Jana Sena Party (JSP) within the NDA alliance, expressing confidence that their combined efforts would lead to the state’s progress and welfare.
