Vijayawada: A drunken altercation between two persons at Markapuram in Prakasam dist took a violent turn on Tuesday when one of them, Polagani Shankar (36), threw a country-made bomb at his opponent. The explosion resulted in the death of a street dog besides causing injuries to Shankar. Markapuram CI Subba Rao said the bomb, primarily meant to deter wild animals, caused a blast that claimed the life of a street dog that was nearby. Shankar was taken to a nearby hospital and is undergoing treatment. The target of the attack managed to escape with minor injuries.TNN
