Former minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader T. Harish Rao has alleged that going back on promises made has become a routine for Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy with the government failing to complete the disbursement of investment support given under Rythu Bharosa by March 31, as announced by the Chief Minister himself on January 26.
In a statement, Mr. Harish Rao said on Tuesday that the Chief Minister had reiterated even during the recent budget session of the Assembly that his government would complete the disbursement of Rythu Bharosa at ₹6,000 per acre for the 2024-25 Yasangi/Rabi season by March 31. First the farmers were told that they would get Rythu Bharosa during Dasara (for Kharif) and then during Sankranthi (for Rabi), but in vain.
The government had also blatantly deceived the farming community on the farm loan waiver scheme as a large number of farmers who had the outstanding dues up to ₹2 lakh did not get the waiver benefit.
