Kurnool police trace two missing children, hand them over to parents

Two children, who went missing from their home in Venus Colony in Kurnool, were traced and handed over to their parents within few hours on Tuesday night.

According to the police, the children’s father, P. Prabhu Das, has been working in Balaji Nivas apartments as a watchman for the past six years, while his wife Madhavi works as a maid. The couple hail from Loddipalle village in Orvakal mandal and their children, Prasanthi and Pradeep, study in class VI and Class III respectively in a government high school near A.P. Pollution Control Board office.

After having dinner on Tuesday night, the two kids went out of the apartment to play and lost their way. As it was dark, they went to the nearby Sai Sadhan apartments, where their relatives stay on the third floor. As the relatives were not in the house, they remained in the third floor itself fearing the darkness outside.

A little later, after realising that his children were missing, Prabhu Das alerted the police. Kurnool II Town police Circle Inspector (CI) Nagaraja Rao, who was doing visible policing in the Venkataramana Colony, launched a search and after enquiring with the locals traced the children in the nearby apartment and handed them over to the parents. Superintendent of Police (SP) Vikrant Patel appreciated the CI for his prompt response.
