Andhra Pradesh minister Lokesh to distribute 3,000 house sites in next three days | Vijayawada News

Vijayawada: HRD and IT minister Nara Lokesh distributed house-sites to the eligible poor in his constituency Mangalagiri on Thursday.
State govt regularised the lands including poramboke, forest and railway lands, that were encroached by the poor, and granted house-sites following strong recommendation by minister Lokesh. He will distribute about 3,000 sites to the poor in the constituency in the next three days.
Lokesh started the programme with a visit to the residence of one Govindu of Rajahmundry, who has been living in a house built in the Kondavalu area of Undavalli Rajakula colony for the past fifteen years. As it is a hill slope, the family do not have any official rights over the house so far. The IT and HRD minister presented new clothes to the family, along with handing them over the regularisation document. Overwhelmed by the minister’s gesture, the family blessed him to continue as the legislator of Mangalagiri for another 30 years.
Govindu and his wife Seetha Mahalakshmi explained to Lokesh that they came to Mangalagiri about 15 years ago and built a house on hill slope. They narrated how they have been going around the tables of public representatives and also their community leaders for the last 15 years for grant of the house site, but never received a positive response. They said their dream was realised only after Lokesh became the MLA.
“You gave me a majority of 91,000 votes and I felt, it is my responsibility. We will develop parks, roads, ponds and other infrastructure,” said Lokesh.
Speaking to the media, the minister said that he had designed over 50 developmental works in the constituency after winning the elections. He said that they were developing parks, playgrounds, Rythu bazaars, crematoriums and modernising Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple. He added that they would soon lay the foundation stone for the construction of a 100-bed hospital.
Lokesh asserted that they were going to set up a common facility centre with the support of the centre for training and designing and advanced technology for weavers. A plan is being prepared to set up a gems and jewelry park on 75 acres for goldsmiths, which will provide a large number of employment opportunities to the local youth, said Lokesh.
“Our goal is to make Mangalagiri number one in AP and build a strong hold for Telugu Desam Party (TDP) like it has been in Kuppam and Hindupur,” said Lokesh.
