Kantara: Chapter 1 is a period action drama that is the prequel to the Sandalwood blockbuster Kantara. The film is said to be set during the reign of Kadambas of Banavasi. Rishab Shetty once again plays the protagonist and directs the project.
For the past few days, there have been rumors that the film would not make it to the initially announced date, i.e., October 2, 2025. However, the makers have cleared the air and reiterated the release plans. A video was released online with the caption, “No doubts, no delays. The legendary saga unfolds on October 2nd, 2025.”
The film is being produced by Hombale Films and mounted on a massive scale. Reportedly, Rishab Shetty plays the role of a Naga Sadhu with superhuman powers. Ajaneesh Loknath is composing the tunes. The details about the other cast are yet to be revealed.
