Siddipet: Dubbak MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy threatened that he will obstruct the government from taking Godavari water from Mallanna Sagar to Hyderabad until the government completes all the irrigation canals in Dubbak constituency.
Prabhakar Reddy, who examined the pending canals at Pedda Gundavelli village in Dubbak mandal on Thursday, said that the Dubbak people had lost the lands under the project and canals while people from other parts of the State were benefiting from it.
Reddy said that the Congress government could not even dig the distributory canals even though the BRS government under the leadership of former chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao built the project and dug the main canals within a short span of time.
The Dubbak MLA said that the government was delaying the Yellareddypet lift irrigation project which was proposed to supply irrigation water to Pedda Gundavelli and neighbouring villages, located in upland areas.
He lashed out at Congress accusing them of ignoring the interests of farmers. Reddy said that the BRS will build a movement to force the government to supply irrigation water to every nook and corner of the Constituency.
