Vijayawada: In a significant boost to the hospitality sector, 17 new hotels, backed by govt cooperation and incentives, will be set up in Amaravati.
The Andhra Pradesh hotel association expressed optimism that these developments will enhance tourism and economic activity in the region.
The association thanked Andhra Pradesh govt for its recent decision to reduce bar license fee for three-star and similarly classified hotels to 25 lakh.
Representatives stated that this move would provide much-needed relief to the struggling hotel industry, which has faced financial burdens due to high operational costs.
RV Swamy, president of AP hotels association, highlighted that there is a rising interest among Telugu expatriates to invest in Amaravati, which would further strengthen the state’s tourism and IT sectors. They emphasized that govt should introduce additional benefits such as reduced electricity tariffs and property tax concessions, to support hotel businesses.
State hotel association representatives Malineni Rajaiah and Gokaraju Gangaraju, also urged govt to extend hotel operation hours until midnight and allow bars within hotels to remain open until 2 am in areas where there are no public safety concerns.
