Vijayawada: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said that the state govt is aiming to promote 20,000 start-ups in the next five years to create one lakh job opportunities.
Naidu held a meeting with industrialists to discuss the setting up of the ‘Ratan Tata Innovation Hub (RTIH)’. He urged industrialists, corporate entities, professors, and intellectuals to take part in shaping the RTIH to realise the ‘One Family-One Entrepreneur’ vision.
Naidu said that his initiatives, like organising CII meetings, establishing engineering colleges, and facilitating the setup of major companies like Microsoft, transformed Hyderabad. “Just as Hyderabad became an IT hub, we are aiming to make Amaravati a Quantum Valley,” he said.
BITS Pilani Vice Chancellor V Ramgopal Rao announced plans to establish a campus in Amaravati by next year and expressed interest in becoming part of the Amaravati Quantum Valley. GMR Group head G Mallikharjuna Rao announced the establishment of a GMR IT Innovation Centre in Visakhapatnam.
Explaining the structure of RTIH, Naidu said that ten Centres of Excellence will be established, with Amaravati serving as the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub. Tata Group will lead, with L&T and AMNS as partners. Five spokes will be connected to the Amaravati hub across the state, with JSW for Anantapur, Adani Group for Tirupati, Megha Group for Vijayawada, Greenko for Rajamahendravaram, and GMR Group for Visakhapatnam.
The RTIH will include an incubator, MSME facilitation centre, banking linkage, training, VC funding support, centres of excellence, high-performance computing infrastructure, market linkage, raw material sourcing support, prototyping centre, testing tracks, and high-speed internet.
