No updates, just sharing a picture as I thought the car looked gorgeous in this empty, well-illuminated parking lot @ Jio. The car, engine & gearbox are purring along perfectly. Only work done since the last update is an interior + exterior detailing session at Selvin (XselMotorWorx), and new number-plates from F1. Got rid of the DC-design after years as the font was looking outdated. Don’t know how long this will last with the IND deadline. Next add-on will be transparent 3M sunfilm on the windows as Bombay is HOT (39 degrees in Feb, summer season will be intolerable). Will unfortunately be selling her off in FY 2025-26 as the upgrade itch is strong. Sucks to even think of selling a perfectly reliable, fast, luxurious, fun-to-drive car with such timeless styling. It’s been part of a great phase of my life with tons of memories, and brought me immense good luck.
She is going to be 12 this year, so have used her well. Time to move on now.

This truly marks the end of an era. This thread—and the forum as a whole—has inspired so many of us to choose the 530d over SUVs and mainstream sedans like the E-Class and A6. Here’s hoping its successor is another proper sedan, preferably with a V8 under the hood!

No doubt this thread swayed a lot of us to get a 530d. I am proof haha. I was looking to get a Volvo V40, then started exploring the S60 and then came across this thread and got the 530d within a month of it lol.
Car is running nicely (imagine a nazar emoji here), and while the scratches people make when it is parked (because why should anyone have nice things) are annoying, she lets me know of her immense power every time the signal turns green.
The next update would be to figure out how to stop the brake squeal, and maybe get the windscreen changed because a stone left a small chip, but nothing else is on the agenda as of now.
P.S. I’ve been using this one sooo damn much that my Corolla has been lying untouched and gathering dust (literally), and its battery died
