Lalitha Hospital launches health awareness month on World Health Day in Guntur


 

To mark World Health Day, Lalitha Hospital, Guntur, organised a public awareness programme highlighting the importance of preventive healthcare on Monday. Managing Director P.V. Raghava Sarma declared April as Health Awareness Month and announced a 25% discount on all diagnostic health tests, including whole-body scans, till April 30.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Sarma emphasised that 80% of diseases can be prevented or managed early through awareness and healthy habits, starting from childhood. Medical Superintendent S. Umashanker underlined the importance of annual health check-ups for those over 40 and with a family history of diseases.

Senior neurosurgeon Srinivasa Rao stressed the dangers of head injuries, advising parents against allowing children under 18 to ride motorcycles without helmets.

Over 300 people participated in the event, which included interactive sessions with specialists from multiple departments, promoting proactive health measures across all age groups.
