In the 20th match of Indian Premier League, Royal Challengers Bangalore won against Mumbai Indians. RCB won the game by 12 runs.
Toss:
MI won the toss and decided to bowl first.
First Innings:
Mumbai Indians invited Royal Challengers Bangalore to bat first. Interestingly, team RCB batters played an aggressive game. The strategy of MI bowlers in restricting the RCB batsmen did not work. Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidhar scored half centuries. Padikkal scored 37 runs. Jitesh Sharma also scored 40 runs. Altigether RCB scored 221 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Seven bowlers bowled in the game and none could create an impact.
Second Innings:
Just like how they batted, RCB bowlers also took an aggressive approach. Hazlewood, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Yash Dayal and others tried to put pressure on MI batters from time to time. Since the pitch is supporting the batsmen, the bowlers could not turn the game. Rohit Sharma failed again with 17 runs. Rickleton also could not impress. Tilak Varma scored half century while Hardik Pandya also looked like inching towards 50 but was departed for 42 in 19th over.
In a nutshell:
The bowlers of both teams did not have enough scope to display an amazing performance. However, the pitch fully supported the batsmen. The RCB batsmen are in good form. But, the MI batsmen are struggling with consistency. Especially, players like Rohit Sharma need to up their game. Despite coming as an impact player, Rohit is unable to make a big mark. Suryakumar Yadav also failed this season so far. MI lost their last game but they were determined at one stage to win this game. However, RCB had an upper hand. They lost their previous game too but made a comeback. Krunal Pandya is very good with his last over.
Scorecard:
RCB: 221/5 (20)
MI: 209/9 (20)
